The Volvo V70 is an executive car manufactured and marketed by Volvo Cars from 1996 to 2016 across three generations.
It was introduced in 1996 as a replacement for the 240 in the US, and for the 700 series (V40, V50, and S40) in Europe - alongside the new 960.
The original V70 and V70-derived C70 coupé were replaced after 2001 by an all-new model (often called T5).
This car is classed as a mid-size crossover SUV and was manufactured and marketed by Volvo Cars from 1996 to 2016 across three generations.
When the second generation hit showrooms it introduced new features including the Volvo Safety Concept, which included side airbags, ABS, EBA (Emergency Brake Assist), seat belt pre-tensioners, and Roll Stability Control (RSC).
For durability, the V70 uses galvanized steel to replace portions of bare steel in the body panels and windshield bases for rust resistance.
Optional safety features include Electronic Stability Control, Side Impact Protection System, side curtain airbags, and tire pressure monitoring system.
It also featured a modified, more streamlined body and standard AWD.
In 1999 the V70 R was added to the lineup and was based on the T6 engine and manual transmission found in the Volvo S80.
For the 2003 model year, the V70 was replaced by the S60-based XC70.
