Launched in the early 1990s using a rebadged Isuzu Rodeo, the Honda Passport was a mid-size SUV that morphed into a crossover SUV in 2019.

Car buyers in the USA at the time were buying up SUVs and weren't too concerned about the weight and gas-guzzling tendencies of them.

Honda continued to sell this Passport through the 1990s but once they engineered their own version (the Pilot) they dropped this Isuzu-based SUV.

Sales were never fantastic but it being a rebadged car means the company didn't take any risks in developing the vehicle themselves.

In 2002 the last Passport's were sold by the company yet Isuzu continued to sell examples of the donor car up until 2008.

In recent years the name has been brought back for the 2019 released crossover SUV that is built on the Pilot platform.

The Pilot is an SUV with 3 rows of seating but Honda have reduced the length slightly and only put 2 rows of seating in the new version of this Passport.

Sales have already topped the 1990s version by around 50% in the first 2 years that the new car went on sale.
