Like its smaller sister model the A-Class, the Mercedes Benz B-Class is roughly the same shape with similar engine options.

Unlike many other models from the German automobile manufacturer, it is front-wheel-drive, like the A-Class and CLA.

The first examples of the car were produced in 2005 and contained amazing technology as standard that helped it maintain its luxury appeal.

Safety aids that were included on the original B-Class included ABS, ESF and traction control - the sort of systems you would expect in larger cars at the time.

With the introduction of the second-generation in 2011, the car gained regenerative-braking, start/stop technology and improved aerodynamics.

Sales in the first year exceeded 200,000 units then in 2014 the all-electric version of the B-Class went on sale capable of driving 124 miles on a full charge.

In 2018 the third-generation model became available and saw the car gain more fuel-efficient engine and transmission options.

Not only that but the company's suite of autonomous driving systems were added to the small car - taken from the much larger S-Class.
